Target Audience
The George P. Noon Conference Series is designed for nephrologists, cardiologists, gastroenterologists, hepatologists, pulmonologists, pathologists, internists, oncologists, physicians treating patients with organ failure, nurses, family practitioners, social workers and allied health professionals with an interest in organ failure transplant management.
Learning Objectives
- Describe the current role of robotic-assisted techniques in living donor hepatectomy, kidney transplantation, and other solid organ transplant procedures, and discuss whether robotic hepatectomy represents a new standard of care.
- Compare and contrast the advantages, limitations, and patient outcomes associated with robotic versus conventional approaches in liver, kidney, lung, and vascular surgeries.
- Identify the key technical considerations, potential pitfalls, and safety measures in performing robotic liver and distal pancreatectomy procedures.
- Evaluate how robotic technology enhances surgical precision, minimizes donor morbidity, and expands opportunities for minimally invasive approaches in transplant and complex vascular surgery.
- Discuss the future applications and multidisciplinary collaboration required to optimize robotic platforms in transplant and hepatopancreatobiliary surgery programs.
