2. Identify factors in the health care environment associated with an elevated risk of patient violence.
3. Describe techniques utilized to prevent escalation of potentially violent situations.
4. Summarize local law enforcement proactive and reactive plans to deal with outbreaks of violence in and around the Texas Medical Center.
5. Discuss the incidence and impact of mental illness on workplace violence.
6. Describe physical and mental techniques that can be utilized for personal protection from an aggressive individual.
7. Discuss novel methods in which technology is utilized to help staff prepare for incidents of violence in the healthcare
