7th Medicine Nursing Pharmacy CE Quarterly - Rio Grande Valley - October 26, 2023
As liver disease becomes more prevalent in patients and yet is still a complex process, we will strive for educating liver disease processes and current treatment options from a surgical, hepatological, oncological perspective. This event will combine pharmacy research with COVID-19, discussion on the opioid epidemic in the Rio Grande Valley, and liver disease in the Hispanic population.
Target Audience
The target audience for this activity is physicians, nurses, pharmacists, and healthcare professionals interested in healthcare in diverse populations, particularly the topics of liver disease, COVID-19, opioid addiction, and healthcare research for these topics.
Learning Objectives
- Discuss the importance of when to refer liver tumor, liver cancer, and MASLD patients to hepatology and/or liver transplant.
- Recognize the importance of utilizing research for hepatology patients, liver surgery patients, and COVID-19, particularly in the Hispanic population.
- Describe the current opioid crisis in the Rio Grande Valley and treatment protocols for these patients.
