1. Identify key risk factors and clinical indicators for diagnosing osteoporosis in postmenopausal women and men.
2. Interpret DXA scan results and understand the role of FRAX in assessing fracture risk.
3. Differentiate between antiresorptive and osteoanabolic medications for osteoporosis.
4. Recognize reasons for urgent referral to endocrinology (e.g., fragility fractures, severe osteoporosis, suspected secondary osteoporosis).
5. Counsel patients on non-pharmacologic interventions including nutrition, fall prevention, exercise and lifestyle modifications to optimize bone health.
