Sepsis Core Measure Documentation Requirements
This educational activity provides physicians with an overview of the Houston Methodist sepsis process, including recognition, diagnosis, and timely management aligned with SEP-1 and organizational best practices. The purpose is to familiarize physicians with system-wide protocols, order sets, and workflow expectations to ensure timely, evidence-based sepsis care and improve patient outcomes.

At the conclusion of this module, learners will be able to:
- Describe the key elements of the CMS SEP-1 sepsis bundle and Houston Methodist’s standardized sepsis process.
- Demonstrate appropriate use of the Sepsis Order Set and documentation tools to ensure timely initiation of evidence-based interventions.
- Apply knowledge of sepsis recognition and early management principles to improve compliance with SEP-1 measures and enhance patient outcomes.
- Integrate best practices for interdisciplinary communication and escalation during sepsis care to reduce treatment delays.
