Refining Patient Engagement to Support the Mental and Emotional Well-being of Patients in Rehabilitation
This program, Refining Patient Engagement to Support the Mental and Emotional Well-being of Patients in Rehabilitation, empowers healthcare professionals to enhance patient care by addressing the interconnected physical, mental, and social needs of individuals in rehabilitation. Participants will explore the biopsychosocial framework and gain insight into common social and mental health challenges encountered in post-acute care settings. The session provides practical tools to assess mental health symptoms, outlines the various levels of patient engagement, and highlights the critical role of bedside nurses in fostering patient self-efficacy. Additionally, attendees will learn and practice self-care techniques to cultivate emotional intelligence and resilience, ultimately improving both patient outcomes and caregiver well-being.
