Dr. Preeti Malani is a professor of medicine in the Division of Infectious Diseases, a member of the leadership team at the Institute for Healthcare Policy and Innovation, and a special advisor to the president at University of Michigan. In addition, she is deputy editor and editorial director for equity for the Journal of the American Medical Association and the JAMA Network.

Drawing on her experience at JAMA and a lifelong interest in writing, Dr. Malani will share insight into preparing meaningful clinical and scientific publications.
She will discuss principles of good scientific writing, what high-impact journals are looking for, and staying motivated in today’s competitive publishing landscape. The seminar will conclude with an interactive question and answer session.
