Professionalism: Recognizing & Managing Disruptive Behavior in the Clinical Learning Environment - February 26, 2025
Professionalism is the foundation for the social contract between physicians and society. In exchange for the
privilege of caring for patients, as well as the status and respect that accompanies that privilege, society expects
physicians to practice in a professional and empathetic manner and to self-regulate. The goal of this session is to
provide clinical trainees and teaching faculty with a foundational understanding of medical professionalism, explain
why it matters in clinical learning environments (CLEs), and provide the tools to address unprofessional behavior
when it is encountered.
