The course is for the perioperative and procedural registered nurse. It explores the potential changes that could occur in patients having procedures and strategies to manage these changes.

Target Audience

For perioperative and procedural RN staff only.

Learning Objectives

What should the RN know/do differently upon completion of this activity?

  1. Identify strategies to prevent hypothermia
  2. Identify signs and symptoms related to pressure injuries
  3. Recognize changes in normal EKG rhythm
  4. Recognize signs and symptoms of Stroke and Sepsis
  5. Manage hemorrhage
  6. Recognize local anesthetic systemic toxicity and surgical emergencies in the Perioperative patient

 

At the completion of this activity the perioperative Registered Nurse should be able to identify potential detrimental changes in a patient’s condition and be better prepared to respond to the changes.
