Medicare Coverage Analysis (MCA) and Clinical Trial Budgeting
Conducting clinical research requires Medicare Coverage Analysis (MCA), which distinguishes routine patient care services or procedures from research (sponsor paid) services. In this new 90-minute presentation, Dequita Hall, MBA, COC, Manager, Coverage Analysis, Academic Office of Clinical Trials will provide an overview of the purpose and benefits of MCA, the Administrative Review, “ARAF” documents needed for MCA, and the consequences of research billing non-compliance. Tabish Iqbal, MD, MBA, CHFP, LSSGB, Senior Manager, Research Operations, DeBakey Heart Center, will instruct how to develop accurate clinical trial budgets with MCA integration. This topic is designed for investigators as well as research staff, administrators and others involved in conducting or supporting clinical research at Houston Methodist.
