Improving In-Hospital Sleep Hygiene to Prevent Delirium Among Older Adults
This course has been specially designed to enhance Nurse's competency in improving In-Hospital Sleep Hygiene to Prevent Delirium Among Older Adults, as well as aid them with the implementation of the Multimodal Sleep Hygiene Bundle for effective care delivery.
Learning Outcomes:
1. Upon completion of this education activity, participants will increase their knowledge about the impact of poor sleep quality on the development of delirium, and the importance of “z-time” to prevent this health condition. Additionally, they will increase their knowledge about the use of Multimodal Sleep Hygiene Bundle interventions (MSHB) and the new resources available, to improve the sleep quality of the patients.
2. Participants will describe a new learning that they will implement in their professional practice, as a result of this activity.
Target Audience
Registered Nurses, PCAs, and other related professionals.
Learning Objectives
1. Will be able to state key features of the sleep hygiene bundle using ZIESTAS
2. Will be able to implement daytime and nighttime interventions utilized in the sleep hygiene bundle for all patients by PCAs and RNs.
3. Will be able to document sleep hygiene bundle interventions in the EPIC flowsheet.
