How to Develop a Data Management & Sharing Plan
Overview
The National Institutes of Health (NIH) requires that all grant applicants submit a Data Management & Sharing (DMS) plan. This plan outlines, in six steps, how scientific data will be preserved and shared. Join us for an insightful session led by Shaefali Rodgers, PhD, Manager, Faculty Development, where you will learn how to craft a DMS plan. This 90-min session will cover:
Importance of Data Sharing: Learn why sharing data is crucial for scientific progress.
Understanding the NIH Requirements: Get a clear overview of what the NIH expects in a DMS plan.
Step-by-Step Guidance: Dive into each of the six steps with practical examples.
Expert Insights: Gain valuable perspectives from Israel Ramirez, MS, Director, Office of Grants Administration and Richard Sucgang, PhD, Faculty Development, Center for Health Data Science & Analytics.
Resources and Tools: Discover useful resources and tools to help you develop and implement your DMS plan effectively.
Faculty, trainees and staff are encouraged to attend; whether you are new to NIH grant submissions or looking to refine your DMS plan, this session will provide up-to-date policy guidance and actionable advice.
