
Houston Methodist Neurological Institute - Neurology Boot Camp (3.6.2026)
This is a privately held training event and is by invitation only.
This program aims to provide neurology residents with exposure to subspecialty areas of neurology and advanced procedures that they may have limited exposure to in their training. Lectures will be provided in the fields of stroke, neuromuscular, epilepsy, neuroimmunology, movement disorders, and cognitive/behavioral neurology by specialists in their respective fields. Attendees will also be afforded the opportunity to participate in a skills workshop where they will familiarize themselves with common procedures performed by various subspecialties.
Upon completion of this course, participants should be able to:
- Show familiarity with subspecialities within the field of neurology
- Hear about new updates in the fields of neuroimmunology, stroke medicine, cognitive medicine and neuromuscular
- Understand how to approach patients for advanced neurosurgical procedures to manage chronic neurological conditions ( ex. refractory epilepsy, advanced Parkinson’s disease)
- Gain exposure to common procedures in neurology including EMG, EEG, Lumbar Punctures, Botox Injections, Occipital Nerve Blocks, and Telestroke medicine
Target audience includes 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th year neurology residents, particularly those who are hoping to a make a decision on their next career steps or explore fellowship opportunities.
