With the increasing population of patients that require inpatient chemotherapy, this offering closes the knowledge and skill gaps for nurses who do not have experience in safely administering these drugs. Also, this course will serve as a refresher for staff who have been previously trained but need a refresh of knowledge and skill.

Registered Nurses 

Learning Objectives

 

At the conclusion of the learning activity, RNs will obtain the knowledge for safe handling and demonstrate competency in the administration of chemotherapy drugs.

Nursing Learning Outcome:

Knowledge:  80% of the learners will self-report and increase in knowledge related to the administration and monitoring of patients receiving chemotherapy.

Practice:  80% of the learners will self-report an intent to change practice.

Skill: 80% of learners will self-report an increase of skill acquisition related to chemotherapy administration.
