
HMTW Charge Nurse Leadership Workshop - March 19, 2026
This workshop prepares registered nurses to excel in the charge nurse role by strengthening leadership, communication, and operational oversight skills. Participants will explore strategies for effective patient flow, staff coordination, prioritization, and conflict management to support safe, efficient, and high-quality patient care.
Target Audience
Houston Methodist Registered Nurses looking to gain or improve key skills related to the Charge Nurse role.
Learning Objectives
People: Demonstrate effective charge nurse leadership by applying clear communication strategies, managing conflict professionally, and supporting a just culture through Safe Harbor and peer review processes.
Service: Lead purposeful rounding and service recovery efforts to enhance patient experience and address concerns in real time.
Quality: Promote professional nursing practice by monitoring quality indicators and coordinating care to support safe, reliable patient outcomes.
Finance: Optimize unit resources by making informed decisions related to staffing, supplies, facilities, and patient throughput.
Innovation: Apply critical thinking and evidence-based practice principles to support continuous improvement initiatives at the unit level.
