
Emergency Medical Treatment & Labor Act (EMTALA)
Learn about the Emergency Medical Treatment & Labor Act (EMTALA) and its components, including medical screening examination, emergent medical condition, hospital responsibilities, staff responsibilities, transfers, and when EMTALA obligations end. A discussion will also focus on financial do's and don'ts as well as on-call physician responsibilities. The discussion will finish with enforcement and penalties.

Upon completion of this activity, participants will self-report an increase in knowledge of EMTALA on the post-activity evaluation tool. Upon completion of this activity, participants will self-report an increase in knowledge of enforcement and penalties of EMTALA violations on the post-activity evaluation tool.
