Delirium committee meeting: Methocarbamol
Objectives:
• Be aware of increased usage of methocarbamol in older hospitalized adults
• Understand the risk of potentially inappropriate medications in older adults
• Be familiar with the mechanism of action and how to administer
• Be able to state the half-life of methocarbamol in older adults vs younger adults
• Be aware of limited data for usage in older adults
• Be familiar with recommendations for cautious use of methocarbamol in multi-modal pain management

After completing this activity, 80% of registered nurses will self-report an improvement in their understanding of delirium recognition, prevention, or management. They will indicate that their knowledge increased fairly or greatly on a scale of 0-4 (not-slightly- somewhat-significantly-greatly).
