Clinical Grand Rounds: Bioethics for Contemporary Nursing Practice - Enduring Activity
At the conclusion of the session, participants will be able to:
- Describe the principles of bioethics.
- Utilize the principles of bioethics to identify and analyze current ethical issues and dilemmas in healthcare.
Target Audience
Registered Nurses, APRNs, LPNs/LVNs and all others.
Learning Objectives
Upon completing the activity, participants are expected to significantly improve their knowledge of ethical issues in healthcare and the principles of bioethics in nursing, as evidenced by a post-test score of 80% or higher.

Cathy Rozmus is Vice Dean for Academic Affairs at the UTHealth Cizik School of Nursing. Her MSN in parent child nursing is from Vanderbilt University and her PhD is from the University of Alabama at Birmingham with a major in maternal child health and a minor in administration. She has conducted research on interprofessional ethics education and developed a tool to measure student learning about ethical decision-making. She teaches interprofessional ethics courses and currently is a member of the Ethics Committee at Memorial Hermann TMC.
