- Comprehend the role of the nurse during the dying process
- Identify the phases, associated S&S involved in the dying process
- Understand the most important nursing interventions that assist the patient in achieving a “good death”
- Recognize the signs of active dying, transitioning and Immanent Death
- Describe terminal lucidity
Nursing Learning Outcome:
On completion of this activity, registered nurses will be able to describe one concept they will be able to incorporate into their bedside practice regarding nursing perspectives and care to the patient nearing the end of life, as evidenced by self-reported intent to change practice as stated on the post-activity evaluation tool.
