Inaugural Transplant Oncology: Evolving Field in Liver Cancers
LIVE (In-Person) and LIVESTREAM (Virtual) attendance options are available.
Presented by the Houston Methodist J.C. Walter Jr. Transplant Center
Transplant oncology is an emerging concept of cancer treatment with a promising prospective outcome. The application of oncology, transplant medicine, and surgery to improve patients' survival and quality of life is the core of transplant oncology. The main goal of this symposium is to promote and disseminate multidisciplinary scientific advances in transplant oncology around the world, as well as collaborate with existing experts and providers to promote and encourage education and research in the science and clinical practice of transplant oncology around the world, in addition, to illustrate and share the new updates for the management of hepatocellular carcinoma, intrahepatic biliary cancer, liver-only metastasis of non-hepatobiliary carcinoma, the utility of immunotherapy in the transplant setting as well as the feasibility of using ctDNA for surveillance post-transplantation.
HIGHLIGHTS
- Liver transplantation for hepatocellular carcinoma, cholangiocarcinoma, colorectal and neuroendocrine liver metastases
- Cancer recurrence after liver transplantation
- The role of novel chemotherapeutic and biological therapy agents in improving transplantation outcomes
- Applications of ctDNA in the field of Transplant Oncology
