Thomas R. McCarty, MD, MPH
Gastroenterologist
Houston Methodist Gastroenterology Associates

Dr. Thomas R. McCarty is trained in Gastroenterology, Hepatology, and Endoscopy. He completed fellowship at Brigham and Women's Hospital, Harvard Medical School. During his time in Boston, MA, he also earned a Master of Public Health (MPH) from the Harvard T. H. Chan School of Public Health and completed two additional training fellowships in Bariatric Endoscopy and Advanced Endoscopy at Brigham and Women’s Hospital, Harvard Medical School. 

His clinical interests include the treatment of a variety of digestive disorders, such as pancreaticobiliary disease and obesity. As a clinical researcher, his interests include the development of innovative endoscopic techniques and procedures that aim to provide minimally invasive therapies for difficult-to-treat gastrointestinal conditions.  He is triple-board certified in Internal Medicine, Obesity Medicine, and Gastroenterology and has published more than 150 peer-reviewed articles, reviews, editorials, and book chapters as well as given multiple national and international presentations in the areas of interventional endoscopy and obesity.

Assistant Professor of Clinical Medicine, Academic Institute, Houston Methodist, Weill Cornell Medical College

Dr. David Victor is board certified in internal medicine, gastroenterology and transplant hepatology. Dr. Victor is the interim Chief of Hepatology and the Director of Metabolic Liver Disease at the Sherrie and Alan Conover Center for Liver Disease & Transplantation. He is heavily involved in research and serves as the Director of Clinical Research for Academic Hepatology in the Department of Medicine.  Dr. Victor currently holds an appointment as Associate Professor of Clinical Medicine for Weill Cornell Medical College and is the Associate Director of the Gastroenterology Fellowship Program at Houston Methodist.
