PROGRAM OVERVIEW

The Center for Health & Nature Research Symposium will bring together researchers, healthcare professionals, practitioners, and community and cross-sector partners to explore the growing evidence linking nature and human health. The symposium will address the gap between emerging research and its application in clinical, community, and public health settings by highlighting current research, evidence-based interventions, and examples of how to translate nature-health research into practice.

Learning Objectives

By the end of the symposium, participants will be able to:

  • Describe current evidence on the relationship between exposure to nature and health outcomes across prevention, treatment, and recovery.
  • Identify evidence-based nature-based interventions and approaches that can be incorporated into healthcare, public health, and community settings.
  • Discuss strategies for translating nature and health research into practice, including opportunities and challenges related to implementation, evaluation, and scalability.
  • Recognize the role of cross-sector partnerships in advancing equitable access to nature and integrating nature-based approaches into health-promoting environments.
  • Apply emerging research findings to identify opportunities for integrating nature-based strategies within their own professional or community contexts.
