Objectives

By the end of this session, you will be able to:

  • Recognize the significance of liver enzymes and markers of liver function - and why abnormal results are never "just repeat in a year"
  • Develop a differential by identifying patterns in abnormal liver function tests
  • Distinguish the initial workup based on the liver injury pattern - hepatocellular, cholestatic, or mixed - and know when to refer
