Overview
There is a continuous need to remain up to date in all oncologic subspecialties. The members of the Caner Center here at Houston Methodist Hospital intend to maintain state of the art treatment for our patient populations. The American Board of Medical Subspecialties requires that physicians must participate in continuing medical education activities pertinent to their field of specialty. The Cancer Center Education Subcommittee meets quarterly to discuss patient care needs and topics of interest as well as necessary updates. An effort is made to cover all areas of oncology, including gastroenterology, urologic, neuro-oncology, head and neck, hematologic malignancies, lung, breast, radiation, and surgical oncology. A CME-based conference will improve the quality of conferences and ultimately physician learning/patient outcomes.
