Overview
Gastrointestinal problems are the most common problems encountered in the practice of medicine and since there is so much research leading to new developments in the field, the physicians interviewed indicated the need for this conference to produce discussions of such new research as it impacts current patient management
Target Audience and Needs
The target audience for this activity is: Physicians, fellows, residents, medical students, PA's, NP's, registered nurses, and other allied health professionals
Objectives
At the conclusion of this activity, the participant should be able to:
- Describe new developments in the field of gastroenterology
- Discuss the surgical management of esophageal disease, intestinal disorders, biliary tract disease, and GI cancers
- Discuss the pathologic and radiologic interpretation of test ordered for GI disorders
- Discuss how research and genetics affect the treatment of GI disease
