Overview
There is a need for physicians, residents, and fellows to continually update their knowledge in the treatment of patients with cancer. The American College of Surgeons requires that physicians must participate in continuing medical education activities pertinent to their field of specialty. Educational methods will include lecture, case presentations, and question & answer sessions. Participants will be asked to complete an activity evaluation.
Target Audience and Needs
The target audience for this activity is: radiation oncology, medical oncology, and surgery, radiology, and pathology specialties. Meeting is open to all staff and medical staff members of Houston Methodist Clear Lake Hospital.
Objectives
At the conclusion of this activity, the participant should be able to:
- Describe the risk factors for, and approaches needed to decrease the occurrence of cancer.
- Evaluate published data regarding different kinds of cancer and treatment options for such patients.
- Identify new treatments/drugs in the treatment of cancer.
- Treatment plan based on evidence-based guidelines.
