Overview

The lecture series is intended to support practitioners in their ongoing education and professional development by providing topics relevant to their work that will enable them to continue performing at the highest level. 


Target Audience and Needs

The target audience for this activity is: physicians, nurse practitioners, psychologists, social workers, licensed professional counselors, music therapists, art therapists, medical students, doctoral psychology students, postdoctoral psychology fellows.


Objectives

At the conclusion of this activity, the participant should be able to:

  • Describe scientifically supported models or methods of care that are relevant to mental health best practices.
  • Discuss the ways in which the new material enhances or challenges treatment as usual.
  • Apply concepts and new information to clinical practice.

Accreditation/Credit Designation

This activity has been planned and implemented in accordance with the accreditation requirements and policies of the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) to provide continuing medical education for physicians.

Houston Methodist designates this live activity for a maximum of 1 AMA PRA Category 1 Credit™. Physicians should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.

 

Other Health Care Professionals

This event has been designed to satisfy requirements for 1 CE hour through the Texas Behavioral Health Executive COuncil (TBHEC) for psychologists, LPCs, and social workers. However, each participant is responsible for ensuring this activity meets the requirements acceptable for continuing education per current rules. Other health care professionals who participate in this CE activity may submit the necessary material to their appropriate state boards or accrediting organizations for consideration of credit. Please note that for psychologists, per TBHEC rule 463.5(c), at least half of CE credits must be from approved providers. Houston Methodist is NOT an approved provider at this time.
