Target Audience

Physicians, physician assistants, nurse practitioners, nurses, residents/fellows and other health care professionals in the cardiology and cardiovascular specialties, internal medicine and family practice.

Learning Objectives

Upon completion of this course, the participant should be able to:

  • Identify the multimodal options available in the evaluation of a patient presenting with dyspnea, including cardiac imaging, hemodynamics, and functional testing.
  • Describe contemporary management for obstructive hypertrophic cardiomyopathy, including surgical septal myectomy, alcohol septal ablation, and novel medical therapy with cardiac myosin inhibitors.
  • Discuss risk assessment and prevention strategies, including sudden death with defibrillators, arrhythmia management, exercise recommendations, and advanced heart failure options for hypertrophic cardiomyopathy.
