 Professor Sir Pali Hungin, MD, is the lead of the Changing Face of Medicine commission initiated through the UK Academy of Medical Royal Colleges, imagining the role of the doctor in the future. The Commission’s latest report encompasses the fast evolving societal and technological changes impacting medicine including patient-clinician relationships, technological advances, AI, clinicians’ wellbeing and, leadership for future imagining. But will doctors, as we know them, even exist in 20 years?
