  • Discuss the importance of using machine perfusion in liver transplantation as it relates to physicians, nurses, transplant coordinators, and social workers.
  • Recognize the importance of utilizing research in liver transplantation, especially regarding donors after cardiac death (DCD) and machine perfusion of the liver. 
  • Describe social implications for clinical staff using machine perfusion after procurement and for DCD donor families.
