This continuing education course empowers registered nurses with the knowledge and skills to provide trauma-informed, evidence-based forensic care. Participants will explore best practices in documentation, legal evidence collection, and patient-centered approaches that improve outcomes and uphold ethical standards.

Nursing Learning Outcome:

Upon completion of the activity, registered nurses will indicate via the post-activity evaluation, an enhanced knowledge of human trafficking; the concepts of vicarious trauma and dysregulation; strategies for managing dysregulation; the principles of trauma-informed care; and the legal and ethical considerations pertinent to forensic nursing practice.
