This symposium aims to address the misconceptions regarding CHD care in adulthood, including prevalence of the disease and continuity of care.

Target Audience
Physicians, physician assistants, nurse practitioners, nurses, and other health care professionals in cardiology and cardiovascular specialties, internal medicine, family practice, critical care, and emergency medicine will benefit from this course.
Learning Objectives
At the conclusion of this symposium, learners will be able to:
- Discuss the prevalence of adult congenital heart disease.
- Explain the need for continuing care for ACHD patients into adulthood as pediatric interventions are not cures for ACHD.
- Express the need for early preventative care for ACHD patients.
- Identify the emotional toll CHD has on patients and the resulting struggles ACHD patients experience.
