10th Annual William Bell Symposium- From Timeless Principles to Predicting the Face: Soft-Tissue Simulation and AI in Modern Orthognathic Surgery -May 22-23,2026
In-Person and Virtual attendance options are available.
CALL FOR ABSTRACTS- (DEADLINE-May 8 ,2026)
Three-dimensional virtual planning improves the outcomes of orthognathic surgery, but several barriers have prevented full implementation. Successful implementation requires (1) an understanding of computer tomography, image processing, and three-dimensional geometry,(2) the use well-tested software and planning protocols, and (3) cost-control. In this seminar, attendees will learn the fundamentals of three-dimensional medical imaging, how to diagnose facial deformities using advanced morphometric tools, and how to efficiently simulate treatment in a 3D virtual environment. Additionally, attendees will learn the latest treatment planning protocols and how to reduce treatment cost. Nuances associated with preparation and planning for orthognathic surgery such as surgery first options, case set up with aligners, updates on the surgical treatments of obstructive sleep apnea, complications and their managements, will be discussed.
