Clinical Grand Rounds: Artificial Intelligence in Nursing “Investing in nurse-AI integration”
In today's digital age, artificial intelligence (AI) is becoming an integral part of healthcare. The integration of AI has the potential to transform patient care, but this transformation can have both positive and negative impacts. Regardless, patient care will be undeniably different from how it once was. Nurses, as the heart and backbone of healthcare, also take on the crucial role of advocating for patients and their families. How can nurses ensure that AI integration in healthcare is beneficial rather than detrimental? How can they maintain their strong voice as patient advocates and ensure their contributions are recognized and valued? Join us to discover how nurses can harness the power of AI to enrich patient care while safeguarding the core values of the nursing profession.
Target Audience
Registered Nurses, APRNs, LPNs/LVNs and all others.
Learning Objectives
Nursing Learning Outcomes:
By the end of this session learners will be able to: Identify and describe various types of healthcare artificial intelligence (AI) technologies, including clinical decision support tools, ambient documentation systems, patient monitoring solutions, and the concept of artificial general intelligence. Analyze the integration of AI in nursing practice, discussing how it can enhance both hard skills (e.g., data analysis, clinical decision-making) and soft skills (e.g., communication, empathy), thereby improving patient care quality and expanding the role of nurses in healthcare delivery.
