Learning Objectives
1. Familiarize the audience with the life of Dr. Lewis Thomas, (1913-93) the distinguished mid-century physician and winner of the Lasker Award.
2. Explore Dr. Thomas's views on the value of the sciences and the humanities for practice and public policy.
3. Reflect on how the public dissemination of medicine and science has changed since his era.
